Behringer 172 Phase Shifter / Delay / LFO
The Behringer 172 is a multi-talented, all-analog effects module for Eurorack, faithfully recreating the classic Roland System-100M 172 module. This single unit packs a lush 6-stage Phase Shifter, a bucket-brigade (BBD) analog Delay, and a gate-able Low-Frequency Oscillator (LFO) into one comprehensive package. It's a perfect tool for adding swirling movement, spatial depth, and rhythmic echoes to your patches, providing a wide palette of classic analog effects that can bring any sound to life.
The module is divided into three interconnected sections. The Phase Shifter provides controls for shift frequency and resonance, creating rich, sweeping psychedelic effects. The analog Delay, based on BBD technology, offers controls for delay time and feedback (intensity), perfect for everything from short slap-back echoes to long, degrading repeats. Both the phaser and the delay can be modulated by the onboard LFO or by external CV sources. The LFO section itself can be used as a dedicated modulation source for the effects or for other modules in your system, and it can be activated or deactivated with a gate signal, allowing for rhythmic modulation effects that are perfectly in time with your sequence.
